Information About thisYears Science Fair The 2011 Baltimore Science Fair (BSF) will be held over the weekend of March 26 &27, 2011 at Towson University at the Union Building (click here for map: http://towson.edu/main/maps). The fair is broken into two divisions (I & II). Divisions I is for students in grades 9 through 12 and Division II is for grades 6 through 8. Each division is further broken into physical sciences and biological sciences. Those have sub-categories as well. The Baltimore Science Fair abides by the rules set forth by International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Those rules are explained in their rules booklet which can be viewed on their website ( http://www.societyforscience.org/isef) - click on Rules and Guidelines. Also, look at Forms and Document Library to view and print necessary forms. If you are a MIDDLE SCHOOL student (Grade 6 - 8 ) - you do NOT have to fill out any ISEF forms unless your project involves one of the following : - Human subjects - Vertebrates - Hazardous Biological material - Hazardous materials or devices - Tissue samples - Work conducted in a regulated laboratory IMPORTANT! We have a local rule at our fair for safety purposes. The size of the exhibit is limited to 30 inches deep (front to back), 48 inches wide (side to side) and 60 inches tall (table to ceiling). No floor space is available, nor usable. Your exhibit must fit in the dimensions listed above. No exceptions. It is very important that you abide by the deadline of March 12, 2011 for application submission. Please be sure to send the appropriate COPIES of your paperwork and ISEF forms as it applies to your project to our Scientific Review Committee (SRC) before experimentation begins. It is your responsibility to make sure that all of your paperwork is properly completed before experimentation begins and is forwarded to the SRC. If not, you could be disqualified! The Grand Prize winners from Division I (high school) will be eligible to compete at the International Science & Engineering Fair to be held in May 8 - 13, 2011 in Los Angeles CA.
